Hello my name is Candice; I currently live in PA and plan to move to VA in 3 weeks. I will be starting nursing school in Aug to graduate in Dec 2009. I am very excited to start school. It is funny that you asked that. I worked in an endocrine office for 2 1/2 years. I worked side by side with the endocrinologist and learned so much.
Here is some of what you might be looking for:

Hormones controlled by the anterior lobe of the pituitary include:








  • Human Growth Hormone (Somatotropin) - act by increasing amino acid uptake and promoting protein synthesis in most tissues.


  • Thyroid Stimulating Hormone - stimulates the thyroid gland to produce hormones.


  • Adrenocorticotropic Hormone - stimulates the adrenal cortex of the adrenal glands.


  • Prolactin - stimulates the production of breast milk in females.


  • Follicle Stimulating Hormones - stimulates the development of eggs in the ovaries and sperm in the testes.


  • Luteinizing Hormone - causes sex hormone secretion in both males and females and also causes ovulation in females.

I have a question for you. I am taking A and P two this summer and I have a homework assignment on hormones and the endocrine system. I am finding all the info that I need except what stimulus releases what hormone. Any ideas on where to search?

Well wea re doing great, yeah AZ is incredible. I absolutely love it here. there is so much to see and do!
Barbie is actually my aunt and unfortunately her sale is only once in the spring and once in the fall. So if you didn't go to the last one there will not be another one until september. I know I love her sale, my mom went to the last one right before she came out here to visit. She brought us tons of stuff!
