Taking care of me
Posted On 06/30/2008 16:26:22 by momlove

Okay, I don't know about the rest of you but some days I feel like I am never going to be the same again.  I know that with four children and 115 degree heat, looking your best doesn't always come first but I am really serious when I say that it has become such a challenge to maintain my apperance.  Lets take today for example:  it is already 3:15.  I have my favorite baseball hat hiding the unwashed hair (I am only on day 2 but when you haven't had your color done in 2 1/2 months, it seems to look dirtier), I have on shorts because it is 116 today and you can actually see the hairs on my legs.  I was going to shave today but the baby started crying while I was in the shower and I had to get out asap!  I need a pedicure, I need a manicure and lets not even get started on how bad a need to visit the waxer.  I am really not like this folks.  If you knew me before I had the babies you would now that I used to shave my legs everyday (that was when my husband and I were dating) because "just in case"  I didn't want pinapple legs.  I used to get my hair colored on a regular basis and actually blow dry it!  I don't really put on makeup during the day because I am home and the babies don't care plus in the summer it feels heavy.  I always told my self when I have kids I wouldn't do this and now I don't know how to fix it.  My husband says that the baseball hat is cute and the no make-up makes me look younger ( I think he lies).  I am not complaining I am just venting a little because I feel yucky.  I love a beauty day!   Hair, mani, pedi, wax, massage and exfoliation.  That would be great!  Maybe when the kids go to Kindergarden.  So 5 years.  I know I am not alone.  Any tips on feeling sexy or just plain clean again?

Have you tried leaving the kids with dad on a Saturday and going with a girlfriend for a spa day? Tell your hubby you want to plan a date night with him and it will require for you to have a day to yourself to get ready for the evening. Believe me, once he see's you all dressed up with your hair, make-up and nails done he will be so glad you took the day. It will certainly remind him of the days before you both had kids.

I remember those days!   Get the pedicure it feels so good on swollen feet!

Ah. I was pretty low maintenance before. After the baby it's going to be short hair, no make up.
I was going to shave yesterday... but my legs just looked so far away. So I wore pajama pants to run errands.
I think I'm going to go get my first pedicure. Because I can't reach to cut my toenails.
