It's a Mom Thing started when three of us, who were mere acquaintances at the time, happened to get pregnant within just a few months of each other. Wanting someone to talk to about our pregnancies, we started a weekly lunch where we would gab about everything, including things our husbands and boyfriends were tired of hearing us complain about. As time went on, more and more pregnant women started to join our group - including women we had just barely met!

Eventually, we all saw each other through labor, delivery, post-partum, and motherhood. And we still do lunch every week! All the women in our group were in very different situations. Some of us were married, some of us were single, and some had boyfriends. A few of us wanted to go back to work, others were planning to be stay-at-home moms, and two of the girls in our group were having twins. But one thing we did have in common was the need to talk to other women who were going through the same "mom things" as us; to discuss our concerns, get our questions answered, compare baby products, and to just enjoy chatting with and building lifelong friendships. Helping each other through struggles and sharing in the joys, we formed a community that was vital.
