Here are a couple different edible clay dough recipes for the moms out there with the little ones that always try to eat it 
Edible Candy Clay
1/3 cp margarine
1/3 cp light corn syrup
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla or peppermint extract
1-pound box powdered sugar
food coloring
Mix all other ingredients, then add powdered sugar. Knead until smooth. Add more powdered sugar if necessary to make nonstick, pliable clay. Scult and eat! 
Edible Dough Clay
1 pkg of dry yeast
1 1/2 cps very warm water
1 egg
1/4 cp honey
1/4 cp shortening
1 tsp salt
5 cps flour
Mix yeast with water. Add egg, honey, shortening, and salt. Slowly add flour until a ball of dough forms. Add more flour if too sticky. Knead dough. Sculpt. Too cook, make only flat figures because dough will rise. Cover the sculptures with a towel. Let rise in a warm place for about a half hour. Let it rise longer if you want it fatter. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Scuptures can be eaten or painted and coated with shellac to preserve.
This is a versatile dough because kids love to play with the actual dough and also have fun creating things with it... Perfect idea for making ornaments for the upcoming holidays!

Peanut Butter Clay (Edible)
4 tbsps peanut butter
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp wheat germ
2 1/2 tbsps powdered milk
Mix. Sculpt & eat!
