My children were all a year old when I took the bottle away from them.

Mine were also a year, I just started only giving them a sippy cup.  They were very angry at first.  They REALLY wanted their BaBa.  I just held out.  I don't think they drank for a day.  I know it sounds mean but once they realized they weren't going to get it they drank from the sippy.

I am not giving my son a bottle anymore.  He turned one last week.  i do still nurse, but all other beverages come out of a cup.

My oldest who is four was on a sippy cup at 8 mos. She had the Nuby brand ones with the silicone sipper. My 5 mos. old, I don't know when I will wean her... since she was born with the cleft lip. So she just started a regular bottle a month ago!

Peyton was 1 yr & 3 months. That was her New Years resolution. We made a big deal out of the last bottle of milk on New Years Eve, and for some reason she totally went along with it and never asked for a ba-ba again.
