I haven't really had the time to watch many movies lately. I love them all.Scary, romantic, and comedy.  Huh, best movies?? Ghost, The Notebook.

The only books that i have read lately are text books. Maternal and Child Health Nursing, Psychology, Anatomy and physiology, foundations of nursing and such.  Used to love Anne Rice novels and the Left Behind series.

I Love Music!!! Country, rock, gospel you name it, I like it all.  Big favorites would have to be Chicago, Dixie chciks, Taylor Swift, TIM MCGRAW!!!!!

I have many interests.  I love taking pictures of my family and spending time going places together. My biggest interest these days has to be school!!!  I have gone back after being out for awhile.  Nursing is my passion and I am now attending an RN program.

I am currently attending Three Rivers Community College in southeast Missouri as an RN student. I attended school in the southeast missouri area all of my life.

Humm... I would say a little crazy, caring, compassionate,  goof ball, and sometiems a little emotional (maybe)

I have walked down a long rough path but with faith i know that God is getting me where I need to be.  I love my family and my friends and would do anything that i could for them.  My children and my husband are my life and nursing is my passion!!!! My husband makes me smile and with out all of the people in my life I would not be who I am.  With out their encouragement I would not be where I am. I am smart and caring and hope that I can use what I have been blessed with to touch the lives of others

Kids are doing great. School is back in full swing and everyone is constantly on the go. Jon just had his Birthday party and it was a great success. I love when family and friends get together and just set and visit!!! Jess will be 15 in November and she is already talking about her permit, I can't even beleive she is going to get to drive.

Jon wants a 4 wheeler. The boys haven't changed their wishes, they still want guns for deer season. Jess wants her hair done, new clothes, a Zune card, YOu name it!!!

This is awesome!!!

Oh....you know - everyday is a new day!! A few challenges I've had to dealt with but things could be worse.
Hang in there, I know school is its own challenge and don't know if I could go back but I comend you! Sounds exciting and hard at the sametime. Time flies and soon you'll be done!

It is going pretty great.  the schedule is crazy though. I don't think that i have had a chance to visit the site in about three weeks and then it is only for a few minutes.  My OB and Pediatic classes are fast track and the OB one is over next week. Oral presentations were last night and had to be 15 minutes long on post partum hemorrhage. I am so glad that is over now i have to get passed the final next monday. i think that i eat, breath, and sleep school. i also got to work in the nursey 2 nights at a local hospital and after the first night i thought it wasn't for me but after night two i may have changed my mind.  I'm really not sure what department i want to work in.
So how are things going for you? now that i have gone on and on about myself?

How is school going?

lol...I know! I saw that article and thought to myself - i did half of those religiously! Especially sleeping on my side - It was so uncomfortable but I was so afraid if I didn't. Even my doctor said it won't hurt the baby if I sleep diffrently. Oh well ..............we get smarter as we get older

hey I love your posts on wives tales of pregnancy. I am currently in nursing school now and am studying OB and Peds and we have just recently learned pretty much everything that you discussed. We are taught how important teaching is with pregnancy but yet if I knew half the things that i know now I would have done many things differently. I don't remember getting much of the information that I am learnign to give to patients.

Hey there. I was reading your recent blog about "miracles" and I was cracking up because you sound just like me!! I LOVE babies, I love the way they smell, the way they yawn and sleep so sound. I do not want any more children of my own but I babysit for my neighbor for that "baby fix" I really enjoy it!

Hi there! Yes I am currently studying for my bachelors in Criminal Justice. I plan to take the sheriffs test, again in 2 years when my youngest starts kindergarten. I already took it 2 years ago and passed and went through all of the background stuff but then my Grama fell ill and I had to bring in her to live with me and care for her, she unfortunately passed last June but I was glad to have been able to take care of her. I miss her terribly but I feel that she is who I get my strength from every day. She had 8 kids and a lousy husband and hardly any money and she survived! To answer your question, I usually study very late at night. This is starting not to work for me because now I can't sleep in since school started for my boys. I need to start doing homework during the day when I find free time.....yeah, I should get a lot done!! I almost became a nurse but after caring for my Grama and seeing how horrible the health care industry can be I thought it would be better to go with law enforcement. I can't wait!! Good luck to you with your studies, I know it is hard but the gratification you will receive you are done will be priceless! You will also be able to show your children you did it even with your already heavy work load! God bless!

Thanks for the encouragement. Presently me and my 2 kids are living with my parents until I find a job. Iwas going to wait until my kids started school but I decided that I needed a job so that we can move out on our own. I have put in several applications that seeem to be promising. Wish me luck.

I have a question for you. I am taking A and P two this summer and I have a homework assignment on hormones and the endocrine system. I am finding all the info that I need except what stimulus releases what hormone. Any ideas on where to search?
Thanks for any ideas you may have.

It is funny that you asked that. I worked in an endocrine office for 2 1/2 years. I worked side by side with the endocrinologist and learned so much.
Here is some of what you might be looking for:

Hormones controlled by the anterior lobe of the pituitary include:

  • Human Growth Hormone (Somatotropin) - act by increasing amino acid uptake and promoting protein synthesis in most tissues.
  • Thyroid Stimulating Hormone - stimulates the thyroid gland to produce hormones.
  • Adrenocorticotropic Hormone - stimulates the adrenal cortex of the adrenal glands.
  • Prolactin - stimulates the production of breast milk in females.
  • Follicle Stimulating Hormones - stimulates the development of eggs in the ovaries and sperm in the testes.
  • Luteinizing Hormone - causes sex hormone secretion in both males and females and also causes ovulation in females.

HI  stephanie, how are you and your crew.  I love your music.  ANd yourpage looks beautiful!  I had a question about older kids - my son is 10 and sometimes it is so hard to communicate with him.  He shuts down and it makes me frantic.  He is not a huge talker and he is really serious and reserved.  That is just his little personality and I am so the opposite.  I just wanted some advice on how I mught get him to open up a little and talk to me more.
