Party Mom-Milk and Cookies 1st Bday
Posted On 10/16/2008 20:33:28

When this idea came across my desk I thought there is no way this can't be fun for adults and kids alike.  Add a balloon artist and instant party! The little girl is to die for and so is her 1st Birthday Bash.  Milk and Cookies.  Sometimes if you think about the things kids love you can turn it right into a fun modern party.  I am doing a Mac & Cheese theme 2nd birthday and I will get those pics asap for you guys too.  Enjoy this, Party Mom

Wall pic

You can get this done at most photo shops it can be pricey though.  I know a vendor who will take your file and make this wall photo for $50 let me know if you guys would like the contact.  Name letters are from Paper Source

Cookie JAR

Paper Source has these great stickers that come in an assortment of colors. Layer a few and print out the text on your computer.  The polka dot is 12x12 scrapbook paper.  This works so well for runners, placemats etc.  Photo cubes are available at Aaron Bros for 3.99.

Simple beverage bins display so well around the party and brings the theme to every corner.  You can also get some waterproof labels and personalize the milk with your babies name and birthday.

Milk and Cookies

Party favors or just dessert.  Use the same labels to continue the theme and pass out to all your party guests.  Also displays well in baskets or beverage tins.

Adorable Baby

Cake

Chips ahoy are perfect size if you are not the baking kind.  Get a mini version of this for your little angel to tear into it is the best part about the whole party.

Party Mom-Wild Baby Shower
Posted On 10/11/2008 00:51:47

So here is one of the best baby shower ideas I've ever seen.  There are so many different variations of this idea and it has such a fun modern twist.  Check out the different mini dress forms that you can get also on hhtp://tmarco.com/baby_store.htm.  I love the little carriages.

Using wrapping paper for table covers works like a charm and it is very inexpensive compared to linens.  Go to your local flowermart and get some big flower heads at wholesale prices.  Gerber Daisies and local roses are usually very cheap and make a big statement.

These are pillow boxes with wrapping paper.  The green dots and baby theme stickers are from Paper Source.  For you local North County San Diegan's they just opened this heaven of a store in The Forum Shops off of Leucadia Blvd. For lanterns I suggest you go to save-on-crafts.com.  Awesome site for all party needs.  This party was done by Amy Belle Isle it is incredible all the little touches.

Party Mom-Cupcake Lolli Detail
Posted On 10/08/2008 10:24:47

Okay Moms here the full detail version.  Give it a try and let me know what you think.  I love them!

Cupcake Pop

Cupcake pops 2

Begin to shape into cupcakes using a small flower-shaped cookie cutter. (see above) Take the chilled ball and roll it into more of an oval and then slide into cookie cutter. Push it into cutter until about half fills the cutter and the rest sticks out of the top in the shape of a mound. Then push the shaped cupcake carefully out of the cookie cutter from the bottom. Set right side up on a wax paper covered cookie sheet. Continue with remaining balls.

Melts

While cupcake shapes are chilling, begin to heat up your chocolate bark.

Brown chocolate bark for the bottoms. Pink or white chocolate for the tops.

Follow the instructions on the package for melting. Most recommend heating for 30 second intervals at a time and stirring in between. You can also do the double boiler method.

When you are ready to dip, remove from freezer and set up another wax paper covered cookie sheet.

Take the cupcake shaped mixture and dip bottoms into the melted chocolate - just to the point where the mounded shape starts. Remove from chocolate, turn upside down and wiggle so that the excess starts to slide down slightly. Then lay on the wax paper upside down. If you want them to be lollipops, then go ahead and insert the lollipop sticks while the chocolate is still wet. Continue with rest of the cupcakes. You can also leave some without the sticks. They’re just as cute as Cupcake Bites.

TIP: Dip end of your lollipop stick in the melted chocolate before inserting into chocolate bottoms. Not sure if this helps a lot, but it couldn't hurt

DON'T - get water in the chocolate. Make sure your hands are completely dry. Water will cause the chocolate to separate and mess up all your hard work.

Dry completely. (15-20 minutes)

Melts 2

Once dry, dip the tops of the cupcakes in the pink or white chocolate. You may need to move it around a little to cover all the exposed areas.

TIP: Let the pink chocolate sit for a few minutes after heating to thicken. This will help it from dripping down the sides of the cupcake.

Remove from the pink/white chocolate and turn right side up. You may need to hold and rotate it if there is any excess so that it doesn’t drip down too far.

TIP: You can use a toothpick to help cover any areas the melted chocolate didn't cover.

For the lollipops, Continue holding and place an m&m on the top and add sprinkles. Let them dry in a styrofoam block that you have already poked holes into.

When completely dry, cover the lollipops with small plastic treat bags and tie with a ribbon.

Party Mom
Posted On 10/07/2008 22:23:59

Hello Moms.  I just wanted to start this blog and share with you some of the great party ideas that come my way.  Since I started coordinating events about 6 years ago I think some of the best parties are always the kids birthday's and showers.  So I just wanted to pass along some great ideas and would love to hear from you and what parties you are throwing together.

CUPCAKE LOLLIPOPS

Cupcake Lollipops

Red Velvet Cake Balls by Bakerella
1 box red velvet cake mix (cook as directed on box for 13 X 9 cake)
1 can cream cheese frosting (16 oz.)
1 package chocolate bark (regular or white chocolate)
wax paper

1. After cake is cooked and cooled completely, crumble into large bowl.
2. Mix thoroughly with 1 can cream cheese frosting. (It may be easier to use fingers to mix together, but be warned it will get messy.)
3. Roll mixture into quarter size balls and lay on cookie sheet. (Should make 45-50. You can get even more if you use a mini ice cream scooper, but I like to hand roll them.)
4. Chill for several hours. (You can speed this up by putting in the freezer.)
5. Melt chocolate in microwave per directions on package.
6. Roll balls in chocolate and lay on wax paper until firm. (Use a spoon to dip and roll in chocolate and then tap off extra.)

I also only melt a few pieces of chocolate bark at a time because it starts to cool and thicken. It's easier to work with when it's hot.  To make the lollipops put the stick in the Red Velvet Cake and then place in refrigerator to cool for awhile before coating with the chocolate.  Use a styrofoam board to hold cakes up while your decorating.

Have fun and let me know what you think.  Love Party Mom (ImaTomBoyMama)
