Painting is my life!
Posted On 11/20/2008 00:49:24

Okay, once again, I have bitten off more than I can chew!  I always  think my "little projects"  will be easy and fast.   Like when I think, "I will paint my entire room today."  Seriously, what is my problem.  I also have picked a very dark color and it was freaking me out a little (it is now coming out beautiful).  I just never am satisfied with my house.  I am contastly moving furniture, cleaning out, organizing, remodeling, painting or fixing things.  Does anyone else do this?

I must say that I do love it.  I love to see my finished product.  I love having a vision and creating it.  It takes a lot of work but I think in my life right now if I can get my kicks out of working on my house than I guess that is healthy.

The painting is still not over... it has been a week (my bedroom is big).  We are doing it ourselves to save $500.  I want it to be finished so I can hang the curtins and put the room back together!!!!

Oh yeah... and we (husband and I) are sleeping on the couch because we paint at night and I won't let us sleep in the fumes!!!!!!!    He is just about to kill me!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to Obama and his family!
Posted On 11/05/2008 00:24:09

I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge our new President Elect Barack Obama.  Either way you voted it was an amzing night unlike I have ever witnessed.  I was proud to watch with my family and know that my son would be able to remember the moment.  I thought McCain delivered a very touching and honorable speech, when he mentioned Obama's grandmother, I shead a few tears.  Obama speech was inspiring and I was in awe of the emotion and enery of the crowd.

I can't even begin to imagine the exhaustion and emotion both the Obama and McCain campaigns must feel.  I know that we all have different political views but I wanted to express how proud I am of our country and how far it has come.  I never in my lifetime thought that I would see an African American President and get to experience an election such as this one!!

History in the Making!!!!!!
Posted On 11/03/2008 15:55:24

I just wanted to take a moment to remind everyone to vote tomorrow.  Whatever your political affiliation is we are making history.  It is amazing that with either McCain or Obama as president we will either have the first black president or first woman VP.  It is going to be very exciting and I think a close race.  Take time to vote tomorrow and be a part of the most historic election to date!

Tired and Angry
Posted On 10/24/2008 21:05:01

Have you ever been so tired you think you might never get enough sleep again?  Thats me.  Soooo sleepy.  I had such a yucky day.  I got a ticket for a U-turn.  Didn't know that it was illegal in that spot.  I thinl some Cops are the biggest jerks.  I am sorry if you know a few goo ones but I think that 90 percent of them are truely useless.  I made a mistake!!!!!!   I was an innocent misktake and I was treated like I was a stupid idiot.  I am very angry still because I am not a criminal and don't deserve to be treated with such disrespect.

I have a friend who is being harrassed and threatened by her ex.  He is been in and out of jail and has told her that he is going to kill her!!!!!!  She has a restrainting order and he has violated it many times.  Do you think the police have done anything to protect her, no.

I am shocked that these people have enough time to write me a ticket for a innocent mistake and be rude while they should be helping my friend live another day to raise and protect her daughter.

Poop, Screaming and No Shower
Posted On 10/22/2008 01:02:11

Just another day in My House!  Seriously, some days I think I am going to lose my mind.  Why is it when one kid is moody it infects the others?  This is how it went down:  My husband was at this monthly board meeting.  So I thought I was prepared for doing dinner, bath and bed by myself.

The baby had been really cranky all day due to gas and I had to just let him play while a fed the twins, the dinner was so messy, the baby was still screaming so I picked him up and got the kids out of the highchairs. Food was everywhere (those who know me, know that this freaks me out).  I got the baby calmed down, he oldest to play with him, the kids in the bath and thought we were okay.  Once I got the twins in their PJ's (this is not easy due to the kung fo they practice on me), Dax pooped and it came out of his diaper. He was behind the couch and I didn't know right way so it got on the window and the blinds - so gross.  After he got cleaned up again.

Then I gave the baby his dinner and bath. Put the Twins to bed.  Gave my oldest a little dessert, signed his homework, gave the baby his last bottle, put him to bed, threw the laundry into the dryer, sat on the couch, screamed into a pillow and said "F**K" into the pillow, then I was okay.

I recommend the pillow thing.  If you have older kids and want to just scream profanity really loud, it works!  I don't mean to offend anyone but sometimes there just isn't a choice.

Hospital Visit
Posted On 10/08/2008 16:47:11

Hi moms, I feel like I haven't logged on in forever but it has only been a day.  One of my twins, Dax, was in the hospital with the croup.  It was so scary.  I was struggling to breathe yesterday morning and I took him straight to the doctor.  The doc have him a steroid shot to open his airway and then a breathing treatment.  When it wasn't improving he admitted him into the hospital.  I was so worried about my little guy but I am so proud because I did not cry.  He was crying so much that I knew Mommy had to remain strong.  If he had seen me upset, he would have been more upset.  The hospital staff was amazing and he began to improve after a few hours and a few more breathing treatments.  I must say, to see your little baby in the hospital crib and in hospital pj's was heartbreaking.  My heart and thoughts go out to all the moms and babies that struggle with serious illnesses.  It is not easy to have to entertain a sick baby in the hospital.  Thank you to all my family and friends who were so supportive by taking care of the other kids during our time there.  I love you guys............

Proud Parent
Posted On 09/18/2008 23:39:26

I am probably the proudest parent alive tonight.  My son came home from school today and told us that he has been elected to the Student Council.  He is in the 4th grade and got the most votes.  I am bursting with pride.  You have to know my son to understand how perfect this is for him.  He is such a "rule guy."  He wants to be a judge one day and he is so serious and driven.  I just love that little guy.  I asked him what his first order of business would be as a member of the council and he said that he is going to work to get organic, rBST free milk in the lunch room.  I almost crashed the car.  I wanted to hug him and kiss him all over his face (but I withheld the kisses because he is 10 and that is embarassing). He is such a little up and coming activist.  It is so great to see your child grow and accomplish.  Having him at 19 was very hard.  There were many times I felt like he was cheated because I couldn't give him everything he deserved (emotionally and materially).  I worked hard at becoming a good mother and role model.  I didn't know what to do most of the time but I always taught him to always be honest and respectful of others, stand up for himself and befriend those who get picked on (because those are the people that are the most interesting and the best to have as friends).  I know I am being a little sappy but I am just really proud of my boy.  He is becoming a little man and doing what the loves.
